Ray Van Hooser

"My father, Ray Van Hooser, passed away five days ago. I have spent the entire day going through Dad's papers and old photographs and ran across a letter you wrote to him dated 7/23/98. Attached to the letter are copies of the web pages you have created for KBOA The Early Years: 1947-1957.

I just wanted you to know what a great web site you have put together and how much pleasure it brought me remembering those early days in Dad's career. I was a young girl but surprisingly I have a lot of warm memories of Dad's association with KBOA and our life in Kennett. Very early in my life I developed a great admiration for my father and for his accomplishments. He has truly been my hero since my earliest memories. He will be greatly missed but he left quite a legacy.

I just wanted to thank you for your efforts in creating a beautiful web site, for your fascination and love for the history of the early days of radio and for your appreciation for the hard work and dedication of those men and women who left their footprints on the broadcasting industry...and for acknowledging my father's contribution. It made the day a little easier."
